Maximum thermal comfort and storage space for colder days
Quest Trans DWR winter cycling bib shorts are the ideal solution for training in transitional and colder weather conditions. They combine advanced thermal protection, moisture resistance, and exceptional functionality thanks to additional cargo pockets.
At the heart of these shorts is the Italian Thermoroubaix® 3.0 DWR fabric, which protects against the cold, while the hydrophobic DWR coating effectively repels water and mud. The whole set is complemented by the renowned Elastic Interface® X-Tract pad, ensuring unparalleled comfort during long hours in the saddle.
Key features:
-
Advanced cold and moisture protection (Thermoroubaix® 3.0 DWR): The Italian fabric with a weight of 250 g/m² provides optimal thermal insulation. The hydrophobic DWR coating protects against drizzle, road spray, and dirt.
-
Cargo pocket system (4 pockets!):
-
2 thigh pockets made of durable, printed tulle with Quest graphics – a perfect and easily accessible place for your phone, snacks, or gels.
-
2 back pockets made of black tulle – additional, discreet space for small accessories or a windbreaker.
-
-
Professional Elastic Interface® X-Tract pad: An anatomically profiled, top-quality pad that excellently absorbs vibrations, reduces pressure, and efficiently wicks away moisture.
-
Ergonomic bibs: Breathable, flexible mesh bibs keep the shorts firmly in place without putting pressure on the shoulders.
-
UV protection (UPF 50+): The highest level of protection against solar radiation.
-
High abrasion resistance: The material is exceptionally resistant to pilling and wear from contact with the saddle.
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) technology – what is it and how does it work?
What is DWR? DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a special, durable hydrophobic coating applied to the outer layer of the material. It works by reducing the surface tension of the fabric.
How does it work in practice on a bike?
-
Water "beading" effect: Instead of soaking into the material, drops of rain, water, or mud form small spheres ("beads") and roll freely off the surface of the shorts.
-
No "cold compress" effect: When traditional material soaks up water, it becomes heavy, cold, and sticks to the skin, leading to rapid cooling of the thigh and glute muscles. The DWR coating prevents moisture absorption from the outside, so the material remains light and dry.
-
Breathability maintained: DWR blocks water from outside but does not clog the microscopic pores in the structure of the Thermoroubaix® knit. Sweat and water vapor produced by the body during intense pedaling can still freely escape.
-
Easy to clean: Because mud and road grime do not penetrate deep into the fibers, the shorts are much easier to keep clean after training in difficult conditions.
Elastic Interface® pad with X-Tract technology – maximum ergonomics and hygiene
Why Elastic Interface®? The Italian brand Elastic Interface® is a global leader and standard-setter in the production of cycling pads. Their designs are based on anatomical and biomedical research, ensuring the highest level of protection for soft tissues and sit bones.
What sets the pad with X-Tract material apart?
-
Dual-layer fabric structure (X-Tract Fabric): The outer layer of the pad features a special, three-dimensional structure with micro-channels. The top layer collects moisture from the skin, while the bottom layer immediately wicks it to the outside and accelerates drying. This provides a constant feeling of dryness and prevents painful chafing.
-
Anatomical profile and pressure reduction: The pad is molded to perfectly match male anatomy in the cycling position. It features a central relief channel that improves blood flow and prevents numbness in areas of highest pressure.
-
High-density foams (Shock Absorption): The use of foams with varying densities effectively dampens vibrations and jolts generated by uneven surfaces (road, gravel, forest paths). The foam does not permanently flatten even during many hours of training.
-
Antibacterial properties: The X-Tract material prevents the growth of bacteria and the formation of unpleasant odors, which is crucial for maintaining full hygiene during long rides.
