Marta Łagownik has written another exceptional chapter in her sporting career. At the LOTTO Challenge Gdańsk 2026 competition, she achieved a spectacular victory in the PRO middle distance, crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 4:07:43. What makes it particularly special is that the Gdańsk native triumphed in front of her home crowd, fulfilling one of her biggest sporting dreams. Dominance from start to finish The competition in Gdańsk brought together top male and female triathletes, but on that day Marta Łagownik was beyond the reach of her competitors. She finished over six minutes ahead of the second-place athlete, confirming her excellent form and superb preparation for the season. The final women's classification was as follows: 🥇 Marta Łagownik – 4:07:43🥈 Rebecca Anderbury – 4:14:06🥉 Elisabeta Curridori – 4:15:42 Such a significant lead over her rivals best demonstrates the scale of the Polish athlete's success. A challenge on a demanding course LOTTO Challenge Gdańsk is one of the most prestigious triathlon events in Poland. Competitors raced on a middle distance covering a total of 113 kilometres: 1.9 km swimming in the Baltic Sea waters near the pier in Brzeźno, 90 km cycling heading towards Żuławy and Sobieszewo Island, 21 km running, a half-marathon held in the picturesque Reagan Park. This year's edition additionally presented participants with an extremely difficult challenge. The competition took place in very demanding, almost tropical weather conditions. High temperatures and high humidity meant that proper pace management and hydration were key to success. A dream fulfilled in front of her home crowd For Marta Łagownik, victory in Gdańsk had a special dimension. Competing on her home turf, with the support of family, friends, and local fans, she was able to experience one of the most beautiful moments of her career. Triumph in LOTTO Challenge Gdańsk is not only another victory in the athlete's achievements but also proof that consistency, hard work, and belief in one's own abilities allow for the realization of the greatest sporting dreams.
